There is a Hadith (saying of Prophet Muhammad, SM, PBUH). He said that Muslims will have more sects than the Jews and Christians (despite his teachings on brotherhood, Muslim Ummah),. Besides those mentioned by Tziyyon Ahavahi there are Kurds, Aga Khani/Kadiani (Despite their claim to be Muslim, they are not accepted as Muslim by the majority) and even among the Sunnis there are four sects. May be many others that I don't know. This is only a test by the Almighty.

I don't know how many there are in Islam, and there are thousands in Christianity.

In Judaism, there are:

1. Ultra-Orthodox
1. Orthodox
2. Conservative
3. Reform (This is the largest group)
4. Reconstructionist
5. Humanistic

P.S. "Messianic" is not a branch of Judaism. It is a branch of Christianity, and was begun by the Southern Baptists, who still remain the largest by far, population of "messianics". They like to play dress up in Jewish drag, with Jewish names and Jewish food and Jewish style "churches", but they are not. They are mostly Gentiles, and this movement was begun by the Baptists soley in order to convert Jews in order to hasten the "second coming" of Jesus, because they believe that the Jews are holding up the show by not believing in Jesus. They have converted several thousand Jews, unfortunately, at first mainly the elderly and the young, the disaffected, those with homelife problems, etc. They prey on the weak like packs of dogs. Still, there are not too many Jews who have joined this branch of Christianity.

In any case, any Jew who is a "Messianic" is no longer a Jew by religion, but has become a Christian.
