I have some glasses that are probably like around 5 or 6 years old and i was wondering about how bad is 51/20. I would tell you what vision i have now, but i don't really know it, and if i can remember, i plan on asking the eye doctor when i go have my eyes checked again. The glasses that i have now aren't marked so i don't know for sure. 51/20 was what i found on the inside of the bridge of my old glasses. I'm just trying to get a general idea of my vision. I found out today thats its been about 3.5 years since i got my eyes checked, so i'm over due for one, lol.

51/20 has nothing to do with your vision at all. It refers to the frame measurements. 51 means that the eyewire is 51 mm across and 20 refers to the bridge measurement.

I was puzzled by the headline question, but you give enough details to solve the puzzle.

The numbers are nothing to do with your eyesight, but represent two measurments on the size of the frame.

51 is the horizontal size of the lens in millimetres, and 21 is the distance between the lenses. There are actually two conventions for measuring the fronts of frames (datum and box) and, especially with the latter, one 51/20 may not fit like another 51/20: one reason not to buy frames on-line.

There is no such measurement, it is always 20/ xxx.
