Take them to visit a person dying of lung cancer due to a lifetime of smoking. Something about seeing a person who can't speak with their own voice box and in excruciating pain seems to get through to some people...

Well, if it's your family, you start by example. If you're close to them, you could suggest that they be each other's support group. They can start by instituting rules such as no smoking in the house and only smoking between 6-10 pm. They can then cut back until they have quit completely.

You can't really make them stop smoking. If they are adults, let them know of the health risks and your concern for thier well-being. Other than that, remain respectful and allow them the freedom to make thier own decisions without being constantly reminded of what you don't want them to do.

You don't. You let them know your feelings and educate them in a loving manner then let them make their own choices.

If they smoke inside, I think you could convince them to at least go outside for the sake of everyone's health though.

You don't. Leave them alone. It's their life to live as they see fit. Did it ever occur to you that you do plenty of things they find offensive? The Chinese got a saying. Don't complain about the snow on your neighbor's roof when you still need to sweep your own floor.

Show them pictures of lungs destroyed by smoking, or show them family members that passed away because of it (if they all smoke, there are bound to be numerous family members who have already died because of it).

It's hard to stop...
You could make a power point presentation to your parents that explains the causes of deaths from cigars and etc.

tell them how much it worries you, but i don't really think that will work you have to want to quit to quit so you might have to just wait until they are ready, and be supportive when the time comes, maybe you could express you dis like toward smokers
