The concept of Noah's ark as described in the Bible was literally impossible to have actually happened. Why do people still believe in it?

READ THE LINK AND YOU WILL FIND THAT IT WAS MATHEMATICALLY, SCIENTIFICALLY, AND ABOVE ALL, LOGICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE HAPPENED.

This is factually backed. You can't deny any of it because it's all set in stone. If you're too lazy to read through it, assume I'm right instead of attributing your disbelief to the web site's name.

Yeah, you say there is scientific evidence that is being ignored, but you back it up with absolutely nothing. Then you pop in just to say LOL GOD CAN DO ANYTHING. That's a much better argument than scientific fact.
Since God did so much groovy stuff a couple thousand years ago, why can't see see any scientifically unprovable things now?
EDUCATE YOURSELVES.

If anyone takes the flood story literally, they're obviously mentally ill.

In the various parts of Victoria Australia that I have lived in (nearly all within the Kulin nation area - ie area of the first peoples of the middle of Vic) Christianity was the main religion with many denominations . The overwhelming views & teachings of the Noah story were that the story as written in English texts is a very liberal (irony!) explanation of something calamitous that could very well have occurred. "All the animals" at this ancient time meant all the land animals in that region - ie the known world of that era - not the entire globe. This story teaches the ethic of 'care for life' - ie that our survival & happiness & other species survival & wellbeing is intertwined. No Christians I know now or then, believed that all animals derived from the Ark animals. Only children are supposed to believe in the literal interpretation of this and most other Bible stories, until they accept the weight of the moral story inside the textual framework. I suppose that some people are struggling to grow up. Summery Answer: I estimate that in Australia over 90% of people raised as Christians realize that morals on 'care for the community of life on Earth' are the most important aspects of the Bible stories, including Noah & the Ark . The USA may well be more along the lines of 70% or less .

Its all up to peoples personal beliefs. True it doesn't make logical since that one ark could hold two kinds of every animal and enough food for all those animals to last for weeks, especially with the diminsions described in the bible, but thats why its considered a miracle. Personally I think the old testament is just a collection of stories passed down from ancient times to teach people morals that got exaggerated and altered over time.

On the contrary - Noah's ark is one of my favorite stories. I LOVE to see the change in people when, after coming to know God, they begin to realize His truth.
I have a question for you: Why is it so important to discredit God's word - especially Noah's Ark? No one runs around trying to discredit Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy. If you KNOW that God does not exist and that His word is a lie - why can't you just be content with that knowledge. Are you one of those guys who goes around telling little kids there is no Santa Claus?! Shame.

Hi, Phoenix.
I believe in it, a scientist was on T.V. with many other guest when asked could it be possible that if Noah had took the animals when they were in baby form like colts instead of horses, new born elephants etc...he said yes, because this created more room and less food to be carried , it also made the ark 75% larger in respect to the animals size///food for thought.

You forget one simple but important little factor. Nothing is impossible, scientifically, mathematically or any other way for an Omnipotent God. And with an Omnipotent God why should Christians fear anything.

It is too bad for them that the epic of Gilgamesh survived and predates the biblical flood. It shows a much more realistic and believable story.
Oregon your ignorance never ceases to amaze me. God forbid you read an article that contradicts your "faith".
Since most of the christians won't read your site here is a christian link as well. Below are a few more.

I find it hard to believe that you find this literally impossible. If you place a toothpick inside a bottle and then fill it with water does it not rise to the top. The same thing happened when the earth was covered with water. Of course if you don't believe in the great flood then my words are of no consequence to you.
