That doesn't sound like labor. I have never had a dog vommit when in labor. Or shiver for that matter. Panting is normal. I would keep a very close eye on your dog and get her to vet ASAP if nothing changes soon. ( I have been breeding dogs for 20+ yrs, please make sure nothing is wrong! I'm worried maybe there are dead pups and your dog is getting toxic..... )Good luck, I hope she is ok!

I have never heard of a female vommiting when in labor, my Shih-tzu does shiver though during the final stage (and she has no complications when delivering).

Every dog is different and so is every birth, so I can't really tell you how many hours may be left before your dog delivers.

However, if she seems to be having contractions and is pushing for 45 min - 1 hour and there is still no signs of a pup she may be in trouble and you'll need to rush her to the vet or you could lose her and the pups. You should also have the number of your vet on hand in case an emergency arises (my vet gives me his home # so that I can call him in case of an emergency and we have to rush her to his office in the middle of the night).

Shivering and vomiting are not normal during labor.Your dog may have a puppy stuck in the birth canal,or a dead puppy inside that is making her sick. You need to take her to an emergancy vet right away,or you may lose her and the puppies.

Do you mean she is giving birth...having puppies? Animals are no different than humans when it comes to giving Birth. She should not be vomiting or shivering. Those symptoms indicate that she is SUFFERING!! Take her to a 24 hour animal hospital.

If your dog is vomitting, you have a problem on your hands. Take her immediately to the vet. She could have a pup lodged in the birth canal and both can die.

watch for contractions,,,feel her sides and when they tighten up, thats a contraction. these should start an hour or 2 before she delivers,,,(maybe longer?)
