i mean i think jesus was a real person i just think he imagined that 'god' was saying all this stuff to him in his head. how can you believe mosus lived to the age of 250? its hardly even logical. or that animals and people were molded out of dirt? i think its pathetic. sure the idea is... interesting because they have so many excuses. but some of it is just utter crap.

Even if the entire Bible was all a myth, it wouldn't be a "stupid myth written in a big book." The Bible has influenced the entire course of civilization.

But on with the question, it is very easy to believe in God. Of course, many people go through their atheist phases at 13 or 14 but they turn back to Jesus :)

"God" doesn't necessarily have to be limited by what's written in a book. Consider how much of everything you "know" is actually just a matter of faith. Things that have only been explained or described to you, and not directly observed or experienced. For example:
1) What do Eskimo's look like?
2) What does an FBI agent look like?
3) Have you ever seen or experienced evolution?
4) Have you ever seen or experienced creation?
5) What color is grass?
6) What color is grass if you're colorblind?
7) Who can see the true color of grass?

Eliminate faith and rely only on facts that you know to be true because you have experienced it first hand:
Consider where you came from. How did you begin this life? Did you witness your birth? Do you remember it? Or did you just pop into this life at some point, and you take it on faith that your mother gave birth to you?
Remember, eliminate faith...
Without faith in anything, there is only one truth to your origins: you arrived here only by some miracle.

Don't take that to mean I'm Christian... I don't believe in Jesus.

You simply choose to I think.
I don't happen to, but when I reverse the question
(as busy little bee has done), this is what I come up with.

I have never circled the earth to prove to myself it is round.
I choose to believe the images I've been shown
as well as the "data" science has given me.
In my mind it makes the most sense
so I choose to accept this as fact.

While I do not choose to believe in an entity as a creator,
I do believe the bible is loosely based on facts and makes for very interesting reading.
(It is one of the oldest "HIS-tory" books I've read)
I just wish it wasn't as sexist and hateful as all the others.

It seems no one can write an un-biased history book.

Anyone who says they have "personally met" an Imaginary Deity called Jesus, needs to at the very least, have some verifiable proof. Otherwise they are just giving you more nonsense rhetoric. Wild hairy stories about some life changing vision won't do it.

Try this: Get on your knees and beg God to reveal Himself to you in a way that will be undeniable. Give Him a time limit of 3 or 4 days. If He loves you and wants you in His kingdom you'll know, if not, what have you lost??

See, I don't believe in God either. Believing has an implication that it could possibly not be true. Ex. I've never met him - but I believe I have a brother out there. When you KNOW there is a God and he loves you you won't need to believe anymore.

I KNOW that God loves me and that He loves you. I pray that you'll find that out too.

How can you not believe in God? And that stupid big book contains his words as spoken through the prophets. The only problem is that big book is for believers.

You either believe it or not, but the bible i not a conversion manual.

Answer: Grace.

The key word here is "believe". Science doesn't deal in belief. It deals in facts proven through the scientific method.

No one can empirically claim that they know God exists. Just as no one can empirically claim that God doesn't exist.

They can believe or not believe. But neither choice is proof.

So what's the difference between a Theist and an Athiest? A Theist can't prove God exists, but believes or has faith in God. An Athiest can't prove that God doesn't exist, but believes or has faith that God doesn't exist.

There's a very distinct line between knowing and believing.

Faith is passion. Logic is rational. Both are valid in their own ways.

Any unbiased scientist, in my opinion, can only claim to be agnostic... meaning "He doesn't know either way." Or to quote Shakespeare, "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

Well if you really believe in Jesus then you already DO believe in God.

Jesus talked about God and heaven ALL the time. If you believe in Jesus, what do you believe about him? Would you say he's a liar? Would you believe what he said?

Jesus said God exists. Jesus spoke the Truth. That's how I can believe in God.

Blessed is he who believes and does not see.
A prophecy was fulfilled in 2002 that was written 1900 YEARS AGO....the sign of the son of man.
witnessnbr1.blogspot. com, click on '2005' and 'signs in the heavens' if you really MUST SEE to believe.
