Sure there are.....lets say some one has beat you up, sliced you with a knife and now has a gun to your head.......if you happened to have one as well would you not pull it and kill or at least harm that person enough to know that you would survive.
Perhaps a dramatized situation but what I'm saying is, it's the law of nature...survival.If something stands in your way of survival then yes that would be an acceptable reason in my opinion.

"Harm" is just non-specific enough to cause a wide variety of interpretations. For instance surgeons "harm" their patients in order to cure them, and religions harm their followers by encouraging them to not believe scientific facts.

Then we have actual physical or mental harm, and the assorted arguments for why and when. War, Capital punishment, self defense are the first things that come to mind, but they should not be considered as a "lump" under the word harm.

If they are trying to harm me, most certainly.
If they have info that might save a lot of people, to an extent.

There is a slippery slope to absolutes as well.

The only justifiable reason I can think of is to protect yourself and the people around you from harm

If I some one were to attack me I would defend my self and I wouldn't have any regrets or if some one was being attacked I would protect them so to answer your question if you or some one alts was in danger you would half to harm some one to protect so in that case it is justified and you would be doing the most morel thing .

Yes to protect yourself and your loved ones from harm. This is your natural defense mechanisms kicking in. Animals do it too. Don't believe me go into a bear cave and mess with the cubs. Mama will rip you to shreds.

very good question, I am not sure how acceptable some things are however for me, I would try to kill anyone who hurts my children and if someone tries to hurt my family or myself I will do my level best to hurt, maim or kill them not just for myself, my family but for the rest of society so that said person would never hurt anyone else again.
Once someone has decided to hurt someone else (abuse, rape, murder) to me they have given up their rights, they have taken a gamble.
I am not sure how well or moral my thinking is but I would sleep better at night knowing that person would never harm us again.

To intentionally harm someone (because you feel like it, or because they are weaker) is wrong. Now if that person is doing the harming it is a good reason to fight to protect those weaker, your home, family, property, friends and self! Protecting one's homeland is good too. Just don't harm someone because you feel like it!

there is no right or wrong reason for anything if you look at it objectively. Faith and morals give us the false sense that there is some kind of right and wrong order to the world. But there isn't , just different views. We see harm as wrong, someone else may not.

People can justify pretty much anything that they are set on doing. It doesn't have to be acceptable to everyone, only to themselves and those that they do not wish to offend.
