Don't put the paper in the oven. Peel it off and put on foil or parchment paper.

If the bacon is in a single layer. Yes use the paper. What you have is the same bacon that thousands of restaurants use every day. It's made to fit one to a half sheet pan or two for a full sheet pan. Make sure that you use a jelly roll type pan with a raised lip around the edge to keep the bacon grease in the pan. The oven shouldn't be set any higher then 400. If your cooking a lot you can double the layers but that takes some care and changing layers half way through. Some of the crazier cooks we have have tried three layers but seems to take longer then single layers. The paper make for easy clean up and the reason for it.

NO....not in the oven.....the wax will melt and the paper will also. Use a non-stick pan on the stove, or if you prefer to do in an oven....cover with aluminum foil so the oil won't splatter all over your oven. I have been cooking for so many years, and I've never done bacon in the oven. How about a large grill?? You can get a rather good one at Wallmart or Target! I bought one and cooked for all my co-workers one morning. The bacon burned out great, and I was able to cook a lot at one time. Good luck to you!! :o)

Waxed paper in the oven is a BIG no-no; wax melts at a very low temperature. At best, you'll have waxy bacon. At worst, you can have an oven fire.
They make parchment paper just for baking that is treated with natural silicone to prevent burning. They say it's good up to 425 degrees F/220 degrees C. The one I use is called If You Care. It is both chlorine-free and chromium-free.

No they are totally different. Wax paper is paper coated with wax, it is not good for any heated application because the wax will melt and/or burn and the paper will burn once the wax has gone, that is where the smoke comes from. But, it is water proof so its good for wrapping sandwiches and such to keep in what you want and out what you don't.Parchment paper is paper impregnated with silicon, which is a heat proof material (up to 600F-800F). It is springier and doesn't fold well but is good for use in the oven to put under any food to keep it from sticking, especially baked goods. Hope this clears up some confusion. :)

Bacon gets crispy & nice when each slice cooks separately.
If you separate them and put them on a baking pan, you should turn them over 1/2 way thru cooking.
Waxed paper is not the issue - it's maybe OK for cooking at low temps, not if broiling....
and if you cook a big pile of bacon, they'll wonder why you didn't just buy a ham and do it right.

I probably wouldn't put the waxed paper in the oven, but you can put the block of bacon in there if you want. It'll cook as a block though and be all stuck together. If you want separate strips of bacon, separate it.

Take it off the paper. Paper can burn in the oven unless it's got a silicone coating on it, that won't burn. But I highly recommend cooking bacon in the oven, you just have to keep a close eye on it.

No, the wax paper will melt, and ruin the bacon. Parchment paper will do the trick. Its a wonerful alternative to frying. Seperate it out on a baking sheet, lined with parchment paper.
