As everyone else has said, yes they can.

Now for the kicker. You will probably have to clean the chambers of the cylinder because the shorter cases of the .38 special allow the front portion of the chambers to get dirty and the .357 cases may hang up or not go completely into the chambers at all.

As already stated any .357 mag can safely fire .38 rounds.

Out of those two, I would take the 686. S&W perfected the .357 mag with this gun, it is time tested.

S&W now also makes the .357 mag in a 7 shooter and more recently a tactical 8 shooter revolver.

Dont listen to everyone, shoot plenty of magnum rounds at the range to get yourself use to the recoil. Start off with the 38's and once you are comfortable move up to the .357 mags. This is how I got my wife use to the gun. Make no mistake about it, the 38 is a kitten compaired to the .357mag

Both the S & W 686 and the Taurus 608 are chambered in .357 Magnum. ANY .357 Magnum can fire .38 Special ammo.

How many different way do you plan to ask the same question???

Best.

All .357 Magnum Revolvers can shoot .38 Special and .38 Long Colt ammunition, which is cheaper to shoot and are a lot milder rounds in terms of recoil.

That is exactly what you should be doing with those models for target shooting. The .357 Mag shell is a high-performance specialty cartridge designed primarily for combat or hunting (with the right loads and game).
Target shooting with a .357 Magnum is dome with .38SPL. Pay a few extra dollars and get the Hollow Base Wadcutter (HBWC) 148gr .38SPL loads and have a lot of fun making those holes.

Yes. Are you going to rephrase the question and ask it again? Again?
