If you are not required to file taxes but have worked, then all you need is a copy of your W-2 forms in order to qualify for student loans. If you have not worked, then you only have to stipulate that you had no income.

If you don't have any income, you can't file a tax return, there wouldn't be anything to put on it, and you can't just send in a form with all zeroes.

If you are a dependent of your parents, then the student loan people will want copies of their returns, in addition to yours if you have one. If you aren't a dependent, then how are you living with no income?

As if you worked during the last fiscal year you can file ,but unless you are over 24,or married,or in the military, they will still want your parent's tax forms to apply for financial aid.

Yes. You can still file a return. However, you will not get a refund if nothing was withheld and you are not eligible for any credits.

Yes. Many people do file even though they do not have to.
Look at it this way, you're covered and developing a good habit. For them., it's just another piece of paper to shuffle.
