out of all honesty. Im a QLD police officer and I definatley would recomend Brisbane and or Outer melbourne. Brisbane is the most LEAST BUSY and the public transport can take you anywhere you want to go safley and promptly. Melborne is just great... its abit busy but the policeing is first class and it has the better technoligies and logistics. some advanteges and dis-advantages below.

BNE-
* Least busy and populated
* Outstanding Transport services to well known destinations.
* Good strong police service
* Decent schooling [non gov schools are expensive! better to do though as realy strict and give a better trouble free education]
ONLY LET DOWN TO BNE IS ITS HEALTH SYSTEM!.

MLB:-
*most advanced and technological city
*excellent transport services
* fashion capital of AUS
* strong policeing
*excellent water
THE POPULATION IS ABIT... YEH BUT ITS ABSOLUTLEY BEAUTIFUL!.

Ide personally go QLD or Cairns where its quieter and cheaper. Good luck! I hope you make a real life for yourself and kids here.

I live in Adelaide, and I think it's a great place to raise kids. It is not as big as some of the other cities in Australia and much quieter. You can get from the hills to the beach in less then 30 minutes and there are buses, trains and a tram line for public transport. The airport isn't too far from the CBD.

Brisbane. I live in Perth (another Great City) due to work commitments, But the transport system in Brisbane is next to none in Australia. All Suburbs are connected by Bus and rail. Two hours drive to the North brings you to the best beaches in Australia. An hours drive to the South brings you to the Gold Coast and it's night life. It is a pristine City and housing is affordable. Schools are usually within walking distance. I will move back in 2 years and can't wait.

Sydney is the oldest, biggest, most beautiful and best city in Australia. It is a great place to raise kids with good schools and five universities. All the other State capitals are trying to catch up.

Melbourne is the Best City in Oz to study.

I hate to say it but Sydney are all stuck up and rude and the only culture you'll get there is racsim and snobbery.

Where is Melbourne has a diverse community and embraces all cultures - which is evident through our many, many clubs/pubs n restaurants.

Adelaide n Brisbane.... Bit quiet, but nicer ppl than Sydney siders.... Sorry NSW, this is a GENERALISATION... so please nice Sydney ppl, this is not targetted at you.
