Yes it's a scam. It's been around for years, but seems to have resurfaced this year and is really making the rounds. There have been several people on this site over the last few months asking when they were going to get their prize, they'd sent the courier fee.....and now they couldn't get in touch with the lottery company.

It has several different versions - sometimes it's the British lottery, sometimes the Microsoft lottery, sometimes Yahoo. But it all comes down to the same thing.

I've gotten probably well over 20 of these emails in the last six months. And I'm not THAT lucky.

Take a look at this link on snopes.com http://www.snopes.com/crime/fraud/lottery.asp - if you aren't familiar with snopes, it's a well-known site for checking out urban legends and scams to find out if they are real or not.

Yes it is fraud. It is a scam. Again, many of us have received so called official looking emails from various countries. Again, do not participate or you will lose your money.

yes it is fraud, you would never have to pay to recieve 250mil in a lottery, what lottery makes you pay to win money, if they are giving 250 mil away they can affored the handling charges of delivering it. that simple.
