not a good idea at all, first because of the risk of some type of STD, and because if you meet the right person for you and want a serious relationship any chance of that will end if he knows that someone else has been enjoying the benefits, and lastly, because anyone you may get involved with as a friend with benefits will never think of the relationship possibly developing into anything more than that but will instead be thinking why buy the cow when the milk is free, to quote a very old saying.

It's a good idea if you only need the physical release. if you need more, then don't do it. And for all of these people talking about respecting yourself... You disrespect yourself when you try to trick a man into loving you. When you try to hold off sex for a ring. When you don't know the difference between lust and love. Men and women have needs. If they can't take care of those needs in a respectful and responsible manner, then why are you disrespecting yourself? Doesn't make sense.

It's usually a very bad idea. Someone feelings will always end up hurt in the long run.

It's okay, if you both know what you're getting into and you've worked all of that out. The bad part is when you both expect different things-- and one of you thinks that there's more to your relationship. You have to be really careful. It really didn't work out for me because we weren't really clear on what we were. Talk about it first and make sure you both want the same things, because otherwise it can end really messily.

I think it is a good deal for the guy, or for a girl who can have feelings like a guy. Myself, and my friends who have tried it, eventually somehow, end up having feelings for the guy even if we try really hard not to.

Good to have mutual benefit.
Bad to get benefit in only.

definitely a lot of fun but can cause problems.
like if you start to get feelings for the other person and he doesn't have them back...
or if it ruins your friendship.
its always easier with someone who's not already a good good friend...
