Product "keys" are case sensitive, meaning if a letter in the key is in CAPS, you must enter it in caps. If there's a space in the key, you must enter a space. Same goes for "-".
If you got the product key off the back of the CD case for Word, then you obviously are not entering the key correctly. Unless the installation CD that you have did not come in that CD case.
If Word came pre-installed on your computer, sometimes the product key is located on the back or bottom of the computer.
Are you sure the product key you are trying to use is for the Word program and not for the Windows OS?

Your best bet is to go back to the vendor and let them know you're having a problem. They should have some spare keys )(pun intended) to get you in immediately, and they can take the one that didn't work for you off your hands.

A keyfinder will only find the installed key on your system, if microsoft word isnt working and a keyfinder returns a value, then your serial has either expired or been blocked by microsoft.
