We Muslims believe that Jesus was a Prophet and that He will be resurrected. We do not believe He is divine, but that His message is divine. We believe God saved Him from being crucified and raised Him to the Heavens. We view the message preached by all prophets to be the same message (i.e. Moses, Jesus and Mohammad were all spreading God's word). Although Islam came after Christianity, we believe that with Islam we became aware of our being Muslim but that everyone is actually born Muslim (a worshipper of God) - so in that sense we would say Jesus is Muslim.

As a Muslim I say he was a Muslim. In the context of the times, Jew meant Muslim because Muslim simply means a "submitter" to God's will. Because God's will had not been anymore then the books of the time Jew=Muslim.
As for the God part, Muslims do not believe he was God or son or anything. He was simply a messenger.
Peace.

What Muslim has EVER said Jesus was Muslim? And Christians view him as both a Jew and God.

If your source if the Bible, then Jesus was a Jew who was begotten by God and Mary, who was a descendant of King David.
My source for that is the New Testament of the Bible.
The Jews can tell you what source that they use to report about who Jesus was and what he was supposed to be. Their source cannot be from the New Testament, because they would have to change it in order to provide you with a rendition that did not include Jesus being the Messiah and that He is God.
The Muslims have another source, it is the Koran. In the Koran it is explained to them that Jesus was not the Son of God- saying that God can have no son.
So with that information, you can decide for yourself which source is more accurate, and which you will believe. I will believe in the New Testament's version of what happened.

I agree with Lana, nervous, and buddisk. Although the religion Islam wasn't established till hundreds of years later, Jesus and all the other prophets (Abraham etc.) believed God was One and that they should submit to everything he says. Since Christianity and Judaism have strayed from what God revealed, Islam was then sent as the truth and in that sense we say that Jesus and the other prophets were Muslim because a Muslim is defined as believing and submitting to God and the line of prophets trail to Islam.

Jews do not have to say that Jesus was a Jew, he was one to begin with. He can't me Muslim, because Islam did not exist till about 650 years after Jesus died.
Christians do not say he was God, they say he is the son of God!

Actually, both Christians and Jews agree that He was a Jew. We just disagree over his divinity. As Christians (and Messianic Jews) we believe our savior and God came to earth as a Jewish man.
