She has to be watched with kids, because she isnt to happy when they are around. (these are older kids 8+ and no they are not mean to her) She also hates other dogs, even though she lived with their other dog for the first 9 months of her life until it passed away.... she never realy like her either.

What could this mean do you think?

Could mean anything. But I definitly dont agree that great danes do not make good family pets, ridiculous.

We've had danes our whole lives and they are wonderful and gentle animals, that are usually very good with kids. I do agree, however, that if the dog came from poor breeding, that may have something to do with the problem. COuld also be due to the animal not being socialized enough, or even if she is spoiled she would behave like this.

Means she was not socialized properly around kids and other dogs.. Just cause a dog lives with other dogs in the home.. does not make them socialized to other dogs.. They need to be around dogs outside of their home / pack. Or else they will not be so tolerant of them.. Just like kids, if a dog isn't around kids, they get older and won't tolerate the screaming, running and everything else kids can do that would bug a dog..

That's unusual, because Danes are not known for aggression. Quite the opposite, in fact, they are generally friendly and do make good (if quite large!) pets.

She may very well be poorly-bred. She is certainly undersocialized, and is in need of training. I hope your neighbor doesn't allow her to be unsupervised around kids and other dogs.

The dog is either poorly bred, poorly raised/socialized, or both. This dog is way too big to be a good pet in my opinion, and I would find her another home ASAP. People are more important than dogs, and this dog could emotionally traumatize a child for life at the least, and kill a child at the worst. Not all dogs are meant to be family pets, and this is one of them.

I do not agree with the last person. you talk to them nice and ask them to get a professional dog trainer. and if they say no ,then offer to pay for the trainer
