I have no bird vets or pet stores or anything within 100 miles of me. Can you tell me where I can take my bird to get his wings clipped and his nails trimmed please? Thanks in advance.

Yeah there are regular animal vets in the next town over but I dont think that I want to put my bird in a car for over an hour to get his wings and nails clipped.

I didnt know we had to do the beaks as well. I thought that they would do that on their own. My keets top beak is a little curved over thebottom one. Is that okay or not?

Both of these things, when done correctly, are painless and harmless to your pet. These are considered husbandry. For your convenience and to build on your relationship with your 'keet, you can learn to do both yourself. It is easy. (If I can do it...) You have access to the internet. Go to a website to see which feathers to trim and where to trim them. I do the first four to six long flight feathers halfway up at an angle, but there are many methods. Then you can stay home to do it and save yourself time and trouble. The beak rarely needs trimming if you provide nibble toys. Yes, it is normal for the top beak to curve over the bottom one somewhat. The claws rarely need trimming if you provide appropriate perches. So that pretty much leaves the wings. (And some people don't trim wings.)

take it to a avain vet one wrong cut can kill the bird by making it bleed and a bad wing clip can also harm the bird , take it to a avain vet , and have them show you.plus you should have a yearly check up with a bird budgie or any other bird. the beak if its too long then there is cause for concern , over grown beak means a illness liver dease for one. ect .

Drive the distance and have an avian vet show you how.
You ask where to take and then detail it that there is nothing within 100 miles........
So, and I'm not being mean, you drive to the nearest avain vet and get er' done along with an exam as well.

I ussualy do it myself
but if you are to afraid that you might hurt the bird taking it to the local vet works fine. and some pet stores do it too.
If you are going to do it yourself one tip on wing clipping
when you open the bird's wing there are several feather layers one after the other. don't cut them all just the first one. don;t worry it doesn't hurt the bird. feathers are kind of like hair.
I did some googling and found this hope it helps

You don't need a bird vet. Any vet knows how to do this & he can show you how to do it yourself next time.
