sounds absolutely bland? I mean it just has like... no emotion. Like italian/french are beautiful and I can hear emotion even if I don't know what is being said, Swedish is extremely melodic and beautiful when spoken by a native, German is unique because IMO it sounds like they are speaking with their mouths full of spit, ect.

I just don't think English has any of these unique things.

Language reflects the society's culture and common behaviour. Why French normally sounds beautiful and why others are not is all depending on the person speaking it. Likewise for English, it varies in the way it sounds across the span of the Earth. A person with a lively character will definitely make any language sound better than the person next to him who is rather mundane.

I can't say I agree with you. Maybe it's because you don't notice the thing about English that others do. I mean do the French know that their language is sexy? Or do they think nothing about it because they speak it?

U R correct. If spoken correctly, English is pleasant to listen to because it conveys thoughts the speaker wants to convey; and emotion comes thru the tonal sounds used to form each syllable.

For instance as every actor learns:

What is wrong with that.

WHAT is wrong with that.
What IS wrong with that
What is WRONG with that
What is wrong WITH that
What is wrong with THAT

in the other languages you mentioned, it would take at least 80 words to convey those five simple thoughts and emotions.

in English it took only 5 words.

You've never heard a Southern drawl or a Midwestern twang. And the New York accent is absolutely provocative!

I would disagree. I think it only sounds bland to us because we speak it and hear it all day long, to us it has no character, but to people who don't get much exposure to it, they may feel the same way about it that you do about other languages.

The nice thing about American English
is that when we speak it,
you can tell almost immediately that we are from:
The Southern States because we use the word "Y'all".
And those from the East Coast pronounce words like "Cuba", they become "Cuber".
In Texas and the West, we say "Howdy."
On the West Coast, they say, "You guys".
The Mid-West make it up as they go along.
I don't find that our language is bland.
I think that we could be a little
more creative at times.
But most Americans are not
taught to enunciate their words,
that's why some of it sounds like one word. Such as, "rundover" "djaeatyet," "mo'nback" & "mo'tee."
See such interesting words,
but you need to be an American to
understand them.

Because it is what you know and have heard your whole life. To others who don't speak English it probably sounds different. The grass is always greener isn't it?

I agree. It's sounds so...average (in my opinion). Hardly any enunciating, hardly any accents. B O R I N G.
However, English is good in some ways. You can speak it anyway you want, and you're partly understood.

No. It is particularly suited for cussing. Actually, this particular question is rather silly, in my opinion.
