Or, do you start at 0 and your first credit interaction shoots you up to a high number and you can either go up or down from there?

(Hopefully that question made sense, lol)

My attempt to explain exactly what I am wondering: If I have no credit and then apply and receive a credit card, do I know have a score, and what is it? Do I need use it before I get a score, and once I do what would my score be. In addition, lets say I have no credit, but apply for a card and get denied...am I now in the negative or does the score only start once I receive credit?

F.I.C.O. reports from 300 to 850 anything that scores below 300 defaults to 0.

Everyone starts at 0 and builds up, your score starts when you first get credit and start using it.

Accounts take 6-months to be rated, so once you start using your credit card it will still take 6-months of on time payments hopefully in full before you have a score.

You start out as a "first time buyer", which gives you some leniency. I believe once you have active credit your score is around 5 or 6 hundred, but it goes up pretty fast as long as you are paying your bills on time.

Your credit score begins once you open your first credit card account. If you use it a lot, and you carry a balance on it over several months, your score will be high. If you only have one card, and you pay it off every month, your score will be low.
