Well, my dog had been coughing and wheezing a lot. So we took her to the vet and they said that it could be allergies. He gave her antibotics and said he would check in on us about a month later. Today when we got home, she was really wheezing bad and drinking alot of water. We have her some benidrel to see if that helps. It was almost like she was having a hard time breathing and I was really worried about her. Since tomorro was Sunday we cant take her to the ver but we are trying to get her in on Monday. Will she be ok through both of the nights? Shes beginning to calm down a little thankfully. Since we adopted her about a year ago, we dont know much about her health in the past, so this could be something she has had to deal with for a while. Well, please, let me know what I can do for her to make her feel better untill we get her into the vets. Also, whats the cause of drinking so much water? She isnt dehadrated. Could it we something with the allergies? I really need some help.

I am sorry to hear that, keep her calm and plenty of water take turns watching her through the night until the vet visit. You make them check her heart and all that okay. My moms dog did that and had a small hole in her heart and they had to give her special pills twice a day for the breathing. Don't panic could be allergies but they should be able to give her something more then antibotics if it is allergies ya know a daily regiment like with humans azthma. keep her cool if it hot put a fan infront of her to make sure doesn't overheat. Cool night air is good my moms dog loved that. Just make sure the vet tests her heart and some blood work would help Just keep her calm and watch her and good luck I hope she is okey love the little girl ya know

Poor dog! Many of the pet owners on here will tell you to take her to the emergency clinic, but sometimes this isn't an option. I know both of my dogs got Kennel cough from when I took one of them to the SPCA to have his teeth cleaned, he came home with it and gave it to the other one. Now I had never even heard of Kennel cough before but my Lord it was HORRIBLE sounding! and the new puppy we had just gotten would cough and ewww, stuff would come out. Ok, I'm making myself sick here...the point I am trying to make is that could it possibly be Kennel cough? If so, the cough sounds a lot worse than it really is. If your vet thinks it's allergy related and didn't get a lung x-ray, maybe one will be in order for Monday. Just be sure and keep plenty of water down for her if she is that thirsty. I hope she gets better soon.

Lots of dogs have allergies, and what you're describing is what they call reverse sneezing. It's kind of scary to people, but it doesn't hurt the dogs and is more irritating than anything. Don't get all worked about it. There's no need to panic. Call your vet on Monday. There's no reason to rush her in there. And the dog is drinking a lot because reversing sneezing dries her mouth out and makes her thirsty. She's fine, so try to relax.

If she is still having labored breathing, I just wouldn't be able to wait until Monday myself. I would have to find an emergency Vet to take her to. It is impossible to say what could be the cause. We don't know the dog, have never seen it and don't know what it may have been exposed to or any other causes of her stress right now.

The extreme thirst, the difficult breathing.....both are pretty uncomfortable symptoms for your dog, please take her to an emergency clinic for help.

I would call the vet first thing in the morning, they usually have a service or a pager. They might want to meet you @ the office due to the breathing issues.
Good Luck...

She needs to be taken to the emergency vet immediately if she is having trouble breathing. There is nothing you can do for her.
