they start resisting and they say i'm not resisting. what did i do? what did i do? who watches this show really? why? Is it to laugh at how stupid people are?

That is why it is called reality TV. That is what happens on the streets. You will have the guy on camera getting out from behind the wheel of a car and they look you in the eye and say "I wasn't driving. That guy ran off."
The reason they get caught is that they aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer. In fact most are very dull.

Because that is the way they wrote the show. And they are meant to be dumb and they want you as the viewer to think about them and how dumb they are. I never watch the show and would not. We have Direct TV here and get a show there that shows people who are cops who are finding the bad guys and putting them away to jail. And it is supposed to be true.

They aren't dumb just on TV COPS...they're DUMB everywhere. We had a kid who robbed a 7-11 and a witness chased him. The nimrod had COOL pants that were too big for him. They fell down as he ran, tripped him and 2 guys jumped on him and held him until the cops got there. Stupid is as stupid does.

Criminals as a rule don't have much between the ears, not just those shown on Cops.

Most likely it is because many of them think the officers will not search them or their vehicles. They consent to a search thinking the officer will believe them and leave them alone. Unfortunately stupidity is not a crime, so they think they will be free to go.

Oh yeah, watch it every Saturday night. My favorite is when they pull the crack pipe outta their pants and the first thing they say 'It's not mine.' EVERYTIME. I mean, you would think by now they would come up with a new line.

i happen to like the show my self. and maybe it is to see how goovy some people are trying to resist arrest. my grandkids even watch it with us.
