She recently legally changed her name from Surina to Carmen. She's so angry at me right now because I couldn't get used to calling her Carmen. Sometimes I would slip and say her old name and she would flip on me. I am trying to remember her new name but am a little frustrated by her not giving me any time to get used to her new name. Does she have the right to be angry? Thx.

No, You've been calling her Surina for years, now all of a sudden it's Carmen, maybe you should just call her SIS. My sister changed her name about 5 years ago and I still forget. Even her husband had trouble changing to her new name. Just tell her you are trying and to gently correct you if you make a mistake.

Tell your sister that you are going to have your name changed, find something that is really difficult to remember. Then start using it around your house, every time she forgets to use your new name remind her that you are still not used to the Carmen name. See that door swings both ways.

no she doesnt. you've been with her all your life, and you have been calling her that all your life, and if someone just recently changes their name, you have to get used to it, it's hard and she has to understand that. if my sis did that it would take me time to get used to that, so its not ur fault. and u need time, but dont worry u will learn her name, and she dont have to trip about that......tell her she will understand!

Nope it's her fault for changing her name.
I would always call her by her old name but that's just me.
