Help!! My girlfriend wants me to hang out with her and her exe.?

My girl wants me to hang out with her and her exe and I wont do it because it makes me uncomfortable. Is it me, should I open up and have a little bit more confidence and do it or should I stick to my guns and stay away from that situation. I dont want to deny myself of time spent with my girl but I dont want to b a fool either. What do you think? What would you do?
