I USE TO THINK: She was the Pop Princess of Wiccan Witchcraft. BUT NOW: After reading an essay that quoted her at http://wicca.timerift.net/horne.shtml and thinking about her book; Witch: A Magical Journey (Which I READ). I THINK SHE'S THE GILDEROY LOCKHART OF THE WICCAN AND WITCHCRAFT COMMUNITY. She's really pretty & her spells are kinda cool but she is trivializing and basically selling Witchcraft & Wicca. She was once on the Tyra Banks show trying to explain Wicca, She was talking more than The other Witches (Ones who did Good Magic and others who did Darker Magic) and Satanists. (I THINK WHY TYRA PUT SATANISTS ON THAT SHOW IS CAUSE THEY DID MAGIC, AND TYRA MADE US LOOK LIKE WEIRDOS NOT NORMAL PEOPLE!) So shout out whatever your opinion.

Oh truth: DON'T YOU DARE SAY THAT WITCHCRAFT IS USING DEMONIC POWERS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU'D NEVER DONE A SPELL. START LEARNING TO LIVE AND LET LIVE. ACCEPT OTHERS FOR WHO THEY ARE!

Black Dragon: LOL, Good Answer, Super funny but too true!

Jessie: I agree. The ones who R paying her to be Wiccan are people who buy her stuff.

Great advice Lady Morgana for both of my Newest Witch questions.

I think of Fiona Horne about as much as I think about Silver Ravenwolf, which is to say as little as possible.

People like that need to title their books:

Play Craft for Play Pagans

Witchcraft for people with low self-esteem

Glam Trad, or What size is YOUR pentacle?

Shake and Half-Bake, Wicca for those who don't really want real craft.

I hate the idea of the trivializing any religious/spiritual path. As for "selling" Wicca/Witchcraft, it is a thriving business for a reason. A lot of people are dissatisfied with organized religion and will look to alternatives. Once they get past the fluffy stuff, those not dedicated to the hard work involved will look for something else.

I don't watch Tyra Banks because she's nothing but a bubble headed superficial idiot.

Hi Matilde,

ok, here's a shout:

FIONA HORNE IS A TOTALLY FLUFFY BUNNY! IGNORE HER IF YOU WANT GOOD INFORMATION!

I think my colleagues and I have pretty well summed it up. Many people who sell Wicca and/or Witchcraft like she does are making enormous profits, but they are doing the true seekers a grave disservice. It is hard enough to get really good accurate information about these topics when you are a newcomers and don't know what is the real thing and what is fluffy beyond belief.

Go with what is real, ignore fluffies, and especially ignore Fundies who tell you about hell because as we know, there is no hell.

((((Matilde)))))

Bright Blessings,

I do love Wicca: For the Rest of Us. Thank the gods that I discovered that site before I got more corrupted by all those fluffy sites out there...

I don't like Fiona Horne. She's too fluffy.

Fiona Horne and $ilver Ravenwolf - cut of the same cloth. Both have fabricated parts of their past, especially their magical training. Both trivialize some practices, and promote worse practices (telling teenagers to do binding spells on everyone who upsets them? Umm no...) and their books and magic kits and etc and etc are all out to make money.
I'm not against a person earning a living, or even getting rich - but I do have a problem with it when they promote misinformation as fact.

OH please, stuff the "going to burn in hell stuff" - that has NOTHING to do with the question, and you should be reported for being a hate troll.

I've read a little bit from her, not much though....

My step sister could give you a more credible opinion than I, but from what I've read from her, shes pretty much on point with everything. And - shes HOT. :D
