The thing that actually came first was the plant, which eventually grew legs, feathers, and other attributes that you connect to the chicken of today

I actually found out this morning as I fixed breakfast. I fried the chicken first then the eggs (while the biscuits were baking)!

eggs. You didn't say what kind of eggs so I assumed you meant eggs in general and some dinosaurs evolved into birds. Many dinosaurs layed eggs and so the egg came first.

to the idiot above me, evolution does not work like that! one species does not suddenly change into another, it happens slowly over time, over billions of years. one genration at a time and very slight changes due to fitnss of parent genes and genetic mutations. also mammals came before birds
