Satanists are great, loving people. Unfortunately, they get a bad rap from ignorant people who don't understand that Satanists don't believe in the Christian deity of Satan.

Depends on what type they are, I guess. LaVeyan Satanists are closer to my beliefs (atheist). I think the literal Devil Worshipers, the ones who think Satan actually exits are just as, for lack of a better word ,delusional as any type of theists. I don't think any less of them, It's just that I don't believe in what they believe in.

I've known a few Satanists in my life, and they were perfectly nice people. You treat them with respect, they treat you with respect. They wish no harm on anyone that means no harm to them.

Just an FYI, (because you didn't mention if you know what Satanism is or not.) Satanists do not worship the devil. "Devil worship" and Satanism are not the same thing.

The Anton LaVey variety? - Harmless kids.

The "Old school" variety - Hopefully all gone? I remember reading something in the South China Morning post way back when about how one of the last "Hey's let's kidnap people and sacrifice them" old school Satanists groups were broken up in Milan many many many many years ago.

So let's hope for all our sakes that no one has picked up that pernicious thread.

Give me the LaVey boys any day of the week over them...

The ones I know I love to death. They are intelligent and think women are as close to the divine and there is. Yea....gotta love that. *sigh*

For the record MOST Satanist are actually atheists. Learn before you accuse. And even the theistic ones don't worship him as the Biblical Satan.

It's hard to answer this question because it depends on what you mean by "satanist". Until I get a statement of their beliefs, it might not be fair to express an opinion about them. How I think of them may not necessarily how they think of themselves.

I suppose that even among so-called "satanists", there would be a variety of types. Also, there would be a variety of DEGREES, I mean, the degree to which they worship satan.

Anyway, you are merely asking for my opinion so let me give it. Let me first define a "satanist" as one who worships satan as if satan were God.

In that case, I would say that he (or she, I'm using "he" as referring to both sexes) is GRAVELY MISTAKEN. By definition, satan means "the enemy" or "the adversary", that is, he is the enemy of God.

God is the only one who deserves our worship because he IS God. For whatever reason, the satanist is sadly deceived (by other satanists or by satan himself) or is self-deceived, thinking and believing that it is satan who deserves his worship and not God himself.

The bible tells of a time when the almighty God will let loose his wrath upon all his enemies. He will throw satan into a "lake or fire" where satan and his followers - having chosen to be enemies of God - will be punished forever.

But - and here's the big BUT - if even the satanist realizes his serious error and truly repents, in my opinion there is still room for him or her to find forgiveness. For God is merciful. The gospel according to John says that "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life". (John 3:16) Note that it says WHOSOEVER. There is no condition here. That "whosoever" can even be a satanist.

Oh yes, the bible says that there is an unforgivable sin, that is, the sin of committing blasphemy against the Holy Spirit of God. Whatever that means, it is scare and dangerous and should be avoided at all costs! Still, there might be so-called satanists who have NOT YET committed that sin, they can still repent and return to God. And even if they have already committed it, let them throw themselves on God's mercy anyway. For they have no choice as the alternative is to suffer the wrath of almighty God's forever.

So before God's day of wrath comes, people who have been deceived into becoming "satanists" (worshipers of satan) have time to repent and come back to God through faith in Jesus Christ. I pray for God's grace to be on them as well, for each human being is precious to God for he bears the image of God. God wants each human being to be saved and he has provided a means for that, as the John 3:16 verse says.

I'm therefore calling upon all so-called "satanists", especially those who are not yet so deep into it. Repent, turn your back on satan and return to God before it is too late. God's wonderful love extends even to you.
