It started out with the colors not right blacks sometimes green and reds orange its grainy and its flickering alot .Black lines flicker peoples faces have strange shadowing . the lamp went out a month earlier but was replaced .

as to using componet connections yes i use them for my dvd player but for my cable i am using hdmi and i am having problems with it too. my on screen menus are affected too

Blacks sometimes Green, and Reds orange...lessee...hmmm..

Reds orange......Reds orange...that's red and YELLOW....green and red make yellow, and that means LACK OF BLUE

You're using Component (5 wire) cables to get that picture INTO the tv I'll bet.
And the component cable between your TV and CABLE/SAT box has "walked out" of the BLUE (Pb) connector on one end or the other.....
Firmly RESEAT all the component cables on the box, and the TV....

Bet it looks fine afterwards......

could b the lamp.might b a defected lamp that u replace.
