Don't believe the doctor could have your license revoked. The question would come when you have to go get your license and take the vision test. Those results will have a bearing on ability to secure a license.

It's my understanding that if your eye doctor thinks your eyes are impaired to the point where you would be an unsafe driver, he does have an obligation to report it to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles. You would then be restricted to not driving under certain conditions, such as night driving, or going long distances, and be required to have periodic eye tests. With treatment, your vision could improve and your driving restrictions would be lifted. However, you would continue to have repeat eye tests in order to keep your driver's license. This is done for your safety and for the safety of others, and should not be regarded as a form of punishment.

They sure can. Or they can have you submit a form and always tell the BMV when you're renewing your license so it can be marked on your license that you're legally blind or a certain class driver due to whatever level of vision problem you have.

They use a little machine to check your vision at the DMV, and if you can't pass the test, you can't get your license.

Only if you are legally blind (meaning your vision is so bad it is not correctable). As long as contacts or glasses can correct your vision you are okay.

No, you just get glasses. I'm restricted from driving because my eyes are bad, but once I put on my glasses it's perfectly legal.
