I would pick Scuttle Bug (#5), and I'd change his name, too.

i would go with 1-4 for this reason
those dogs have been at the shelter for a long time and may never find their forvever home. They are the dogs that are less likely to be adopted because of their size. All the dogs you listed need a good home and any dog would be very greatful. However since some of them have been at the shelter so long they may have a harder time to adjust to their new home if adopted.
#5 is a pup and will most likely be adopted soon.
I would go with the dog based on its persoanlity ,any dog adopted could be the right dog,no matter which you choose you are giving a dog a new life and home.
I personally like#2 he is very handsome and has been there for 2 years ,his personality seems great too.

I'd pick Scuttle Bug for a number of reasons. He's very cute and a nice size. He is only 10 months old so probably does not have as many behavior problems as some of the other dogs you have listed.

I would have to say Bear, only because he looks a little older, and its hard for older dogs to get adopted out. I actually have some Knowledge of dogs and if i might add based on pictures only: #2 because of his size, looks like he might have Newfoundland in him great dog enjoy cold.
#3 also appears to have some Pit even Boxer in him, and # 4 also looks more like pit than bull Terrier I can see Bull, but i can also see pit. And # 5 the beagle mix is very cute it would be my personal pick but like i said earlier, chances are much better for it to get a home so me personally would have to pick an older one

Don't you wish you could adopt them all? I love that you are considering adopting an adult dog. If it was up to me, I would adopt Georgina, I love pit bulls!! But really they all seem very nice. I think you should visit each one, and find out which one fits you personality best. Good Luck!!!

**I went through this about 8 months ago, after going and meeting the dogs in person, my decision was very easy. I ended up with my girl, and she is absolutely perfect for me!!!

I want to say number 4 because I LOVE "pits and their mixes" yes i know pit is not a breed but the general public doesnt, especially staffies! But, I would like to point out that if you do get her expect her to be stubborn they are a hard headed breed that needs a firm and dominant owner-- GOD BLESS you for taking in a petfinder dog and any of them you choose will be better off!

add- I am not saying she absolutely will be stubborn just that the possibility is there

I personally like JoJo or Georgina. I had a dog in college that very much looked like Jo Jo and that dog was a very intelligent dog. I am only sorry that I didn't keep the dog.
Good luck with whatever dog you choose.

Scuttle Bug would be my first choice. Beagles are very good dogs, loyal, loving, smart and oh so cute!
I want to Thank You for getting a "pound puppy" instead of buying one! By rescuing your dog you are not supporting puppy mills and back yard breeders!
Good Luck with whichever one you choose!

I vote for 1-2 or 5, but you should try and meet them in person and see how friendly their temperment is. You want a sweet easy going buddy.

You really can't tell a dog by just looking at a picture. You need to go to the shelters and play with the dogs to see which one fits your wants and lifestyle better. They are all cute though.
