I was when I was in school. It was not bad. I had knowledge the rest did not have. I could use reason to see answers to situations others were not aware were happening. I was taught by my parents to read early and read out loud to them so I was always ahead of the curve in school. Many times I was able to give a fine defense for my faith. (1Peter 3:15) In an English class, almost everyone was proclaiming themselves individuals like Thoreau and Emerson. The teacher said none were, except for me.
I was with the group where I could. Stood on my own when need be. Stuck up for my religious principles always. It did not matter what the others said. I knew my life did not depend on them in any way.

I know that you have the truth and as Jesus said his followers would be persacuted. We are learning the bibles message is a sting and that can mean the sting acquired from hatred.
Also, the bible says that narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life and few are the ones following it.
You have known the holy writings from birth and probably know the bible better than most people and you are able to defend your faith. The fact that some of the kids in school resent this and call you stupid is actually expected.
The fact you think they are wrong is also expected. When you know you have the truth you have to know that others don't. It doesn't make them stupid but they just don't know yet.
You take being a teenager way to seriously and it is a very short time in a persons life. soon it will pass and most of the people if not all the people you went to school with you will never see again.
So your trying to impress people you don't like, don't want to associate with, and in a few years or months will never see again. That doesn't make you stupid but unable to see the future. So see the future and get past it.

Ignorance is the answer. Many people dont know enough about all religions to make an educated decision so they will say something is stupid without hearing you out. I am a Christian and I can tell you that i have not looked into all religions but many that I have looked into are claiming to be of peace but have reasoning for it. Knowledge is power. take a religion class and you will see what makes most sense cause we all know that evolution and the big bang is whack and makes absolutely no sense. So at least we know there is a God and he is the creator.

That's a very good question. I think if I was told my religion was "stupid" I would have to smile because while there are some aspects of it but I can't explain (talking donkeys and serpents for one thing), there are other, more important aspects of other religions that defy logic in a more important way, even within Christianity. I'm okay with saying "I don't know" to some of the questions I'm asked. But would they be comfortable with some of my questions about their religion, or the lack thereof?

as long because it relatively is taught what different religions have faith and practice. There are some intense colleges that do. i've got faith that it would sparkling up a great form of misconceptions that others have approximately different religions. as an occasion, maximum American christians think of that their sort is the quickest becoming in the international, even though it fairly is not. Islam (the two Sunni and Shi'it) is the quickest becoming faith. additionally, it would ought to verify that there are different sub-divisions of evry faith (i.e. Christianity has Catholic, Protestant, LDS, etc). it would in all probability extra appropriate to have a known view (Budhist, Hindu, Islam, Judaism, Christianity, etc.). Then produce different classes on each and all the Christian and its subdividions.

First, I totally disagree with Chad. There are lots of people from many different religions that think their way is the only way. I don't think other religions are stupid. I believe people are entitled to believe anything they want to. If I was the only one in my religion at school, I would not care about what others thought about me. I know who I believe in and I know why i believe. I don't have to answer to others, but only to the One I worship.

I'd say you've just highlighted one of the biggest problems with organized religion in general. I don't know that I can answer your question specifically, but I can tell you that this is the reason so many wars have been fought and even are being fought today. If we were all just a little more tolerant of other people's beliefs, then the world might just be a little more peaceful.

Wrong doesn't necessarily mean stupid. However, it is stupid not to believe the truth. If one believes the truth, one will think that others who believe differently are stupid. If one doesn't think this way, then one must not believe one's religion, if that religion claims absolute truth. Not all religions do. Until one finds out that one is wrong, one will always believe one is right. It just makes logical sense. I think that mindset, that one believes one is right, is admirable, even if others find it annoying. I am a Christian, so I believe that non-Christians are stupid in their religious beliefs. If the Bible is right, and I believe that it is, then they are stupid. All bets are off if I'm wrong.

As a practicing Wiccan my poor son can relate to this well. As can I. I had the same problem when I went to school. I wore a pentacle and others made fun of me and my choice of religion. But then I ask them how they could be so firm in their religion as their God told them judge not least ye be judged and yet they were judging me and mine?
It was so easy for them to forget the teachings of their religion and judge mine as wrong or evil, and yet they knew nothing about mine.
And as for your opinion of others religions, if you are judging others, what right do you have to complain when yours is judged?

What kind of religion teaches its followers to call other people stupid? Certainly not one I'd want to join.
