I am not a Christian, but I have read the Bible and will answer sincerely. Plus I see that no one has posted this one yet and I really do love it.
1 Corinthians Chapter 13

Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,
it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing.
For we know partially and we prophesy partially,
but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.
When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I put aside childish things.
At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known.
So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
I hope you accept my answer in the sincere manner it was given.

John 8:12 because I know that when I follow that example of Jesus Christ, my life is better and I am more joyful. I much more enjoy being in the light than the darkness. This verse was also put on my baptism program so it has a special meaning there too.

John 3:16 is my favorite ; I had to learn it for an Easter program my Sunday school class was putting on when I was 9 years old. We were all dressed as angels in white crepe paper costumes with tinsel wrapped wire halos. I've like that verse ever since then.

I have several but the one that sticks out right now is

Romans 9:38-39
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, not any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

I think it is quite easy to figure out why someone would like this verse, but it really clears all the bases in stating that NOTHING can separate us from Jesus! WOW!

I am not really a christian, but I have read the bible, and my favorite line that comes to mind is when in the new testiment it speaks of Resus referring to a commandment of moses.

He said, "You are treating everyone the way you see yourself being treated."

This was a very powerful statement to make in regards to the commandment we know of as "love they neighbor"

By the way, I interpretted the commandments to mean, "This is what you will do when you are one with God."

You will not...

Not you are not allowed...

Free will is free will and it was given by God.
The bible is like a manual explaining the consequenses of your actions within the confines of life in this universe.

My quotations are not legitimate because I do not know the exact words written in whatever version you are reading, I am quoting what I imagined someone like Jesus wanting to say about what was "said" as I read.

My favorite at the moment ...

"The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:28-31.

The idea behind wait on the Lord is not a passive sitting around until the Lord does something. Yes, God gives us strength; but we don’t expect it to come as if He were pouring it into as you sit passively. He brings it to us as we seek Him, and rely on Him, instead of our own strength. This is the measure of strength the Lord gives us - strength to soar above everything else.

Thank you for inquiring!

Matthew 6:33. This world is in terrible shape and needs God's Kingdom to set matters right and to fulfill Jehovah God's original purpose!

I like Romans 10:9 the best. It says, "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." It's Christianity at its most basic.

Free Will

There are those who think that life is nothing left to chance
A host of holy horrors to direct our aimless dance.

A planet of playthings,
We dance on the strings
Of powers we cannot perceive.
"The stars aren't aligned
Or the gods are malign"
Blame is better to give than receive.

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill
I will choose a path that's clear
I will choose free will.

There are those who think that they were dealt a losing hand,
The cards were stacked against them
They weren't born in lotus land.

All preordained
A prisoner in chains
A victim of venomous fate.

Kicked in the face,
You can pray for a place
In heaven's unearthly estate.

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill
I will choose a path that's clear
I will choose free will.

Each of us
A cell of awareness
Imperfect and incomplete.
Genetic blends
With uncertain ends
On a fortune hunt that's far too fleet.

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill
I will choose a path that's clear
I will choose free will.
