We have a hitachi tv and no remote, we accidentally put the child lock on now we can't get it off. We have a dodgy universal remote that only does some stuff, Is there any way we can get the child lock off manually?

Hopefully this works.....

You need to access the LOCKS in your menu...
Then you need to "change the code"

THEN you need to put 7777 into it to ERASE the OLD code, and enter a NEW CODE (I use 0000 or 1111 myself, so the customer can remember it)

The problem is you didn't give a MODEL and a YEAR it was manufactured.....

So I just pulled it out of my Hitachi Instruction manual....
You have YOUR instruction manual? If so, look for "Lock" in the rear index.....the password can be erased.

Don't you have some buttons on the TV itself? On our TV there are several buttons. One brings up several choices on the screen, and one of those is the "child lock" section. Start poking buttons.

Another idea...... Here's the link to the Hitachi TV manuals.
