tell your mom when they put the car in your name you will pay the tags. The only one she is hurting is herself. Because their name is on the car and the ticket follows the car not the driver. If they do not pay it a warrant will be issued for the registered owner of the car and one day when she is driving her other car and gets pulled over, she will end up in jail!!!! Knowing this might help her change her mind about who pays the ticket. Oh, and when she tries to put it in your name she will still have to pay for those tags first. (I think)

You are responsible for the $150.00 ticket because you knew the tags were expired when you got in the car to drive it. Actually it should be split in half as they knew also when they allowed you to drive the car.

Tell them to ask for a court date to resolve the $75.00 ticket. That should be dismissed once the car is registered. Best to save up the $75.00 or just make the payments to your parents as the ticket should be in their name.

This sounds like a lot of problems. My advise is to buy a cheap car and hope it last a few years until you can get on your feet. Your parents seem not to be very helpful but I'm sure they have their reasons for this.

Bottom line is you need your own car in your name or use public transportation.

Someone must have known that if the car was parked with expired plates, it would get a ticket. It sounds as if you are doing your part, or at least attempting to. If all of you are using the car, then you should all be responsible. Because of the expired plates, no one can use it, and the registered owner will be responsible for the citations.

Yes you should you drove the car when you knew it had expired tags now if you don't it will go against your parents because they are the registered owners but that would be wrong on your part face up to your responsibility's and pay the ticket

If everything was paid, take the receipts to court and explain that the State refused to deliver the tags to you as you expected they would.

If the DMV was NOT paid, then there is a problem. You really need to become the owner of the car since you are paying everything anyway.

If the tags are in the mail you might try asking the motor vehicles department about it. Legally your parents are responsible for the ticket as the car is still in their name.

I don't want to sound like an *** but the ticket is your responsibility. Contrary to what people are saying, the ticket will follow YOUR driving record and if you don't pay it they will put a bench warrant out for your arrest. You have to pay it and your parents don't. It sucks but that's the way it works. I recommend you only put in enough gas to get you where you need to go. Let them fill it if they need to. Again, they are wrong. THIS TICKET WILL FOLLOW YOU!!!

You dont say how old you are but it sounds like it is time to get out on your own. Then after you pay for all your own stuff, this question will start to sounds kinda silly.

You get food and living quarters with mom and dad? They do your laundry? Pay for utilities, computer, cell phone?

Life can suck that way. Go on your own and see how you like it.

Well you did drive it with expired tags. That sucks, but you knew they were expired when you drove it. Unless your mom told you to go out and drive then she shouldn't have to pay any of it. Sorry.

Move out. Your mom will have to deal with the $225 ticket that's in her name, her dishonesty, and her crummy life on her own.
