When a guy asks u out and u say yes does that mean u and him r officially boyfriend and girlfriend?? or r u just like going out???

If a guy says "Do you want to go out with me?" then he is asking to be your boyfriend. If he says, "Do you want to go out to the movies tonight" or something along those lines, you are just hanging out.
