Every smart person knows that evolution is true way we are what we are, however some people take offense to the fact that I tell them there is no god. So how can I convince them without offending them.

Why do you want to recruit? The only thing I want people to do is THINK, whether or not they ultimately agree with me.

It's a personal journey that a person must take to either come to that belief or not. Don't bang your head on the wall trying to do this. Each person must go through their own experiences and walk their own path. Don't be like a Jesus freak who thinks it's their purpose to convert people to THEIR way of thinking. Doing so in the name of atheism is just as bad. Allow people to know your beliefs... and then let their own experiences help them decide for themselves. Some people are served by a belief in God, whether or not "facts" bear it out.

How can you get more people to be atheist?

EASY!!!

Prove to them that there is no God.

There is no such proof. In fact no conclusion could be more rediculous.

First there was nothing, right? Then it turned into everything! ok...
...But you go "a bridge too far" when you add "without a Creator GOD!"

WOW!!! I'll say that again, backwards..."wow"! Unbelievable!! That theory takes more faith in magic than I have!!!

Is that logical? NO!
... Is that proveable? NO!!
... do you imagine that this "belief" would make your future brighter? NO!!!

Don't even try to sell this "theory" to believers.

I think atheist are protesting the non-existance of Santa Claus. Get over it!

There WAS a St Nicholas, but he was just a man, now dead and burried.

But Jesus rose from the grave, and the tomb is still there for us to see. He PROVED His Diety.

Where is the empty tomb that proves there is no God to you?

When you prove nothing turns into everything without God, then talk to me about doubting the Bible.

God's existence is too important to gamble your soul on the opinion of the day!

Point out that if there is no God, everyone can do as he pleases. If evolution created us, the best way to better the human race is to promote the survival of the fittest. There should be no aid to the poor, no support for the elderly and charities are just retarding the improvement of the species.

If no one is watching you and there is no foundation for universal law, do whatever you can get away with. Your best bet is to never marry, never have children and keep all your money for yourself. You don't owe your parents anything. Feel free to cheat and steal whenever possible. It will serve to enhance your survival prospects by making you more properous.

Jordan, what is your motive in wanting to convert people to atheism ? What atvantage can you offer someone? We Christians try to convince you of the truth of God so you can have peace and eternal life. If you turn someone away from God all you have given them is eternal damnation. All you have to offer is hell? Gimme a break! You say every smart person knows evolution is true? Hardly!! Come to Christ!!!

1 Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.

You can't. In fact, trying to convince them isn't going to work for you trying to make someone to be atheist any more than their attempts to make you be religious will convince you.

What you can do is wait and let them come to you. When they ask why you don't believe, explain, but if you chase after them, you'll only annoy people, and anyone who's had to suffer the rantings of a street-corner preacher will tell you that's the worst way to convince someone.

So, you know and I know evolution is a scientific fact and...? How does it undermine the existence of God? Or gods? Or, on the other hand, how it can prove the God is? Religion and faith are two terms, which do not have the same meaning. You can believe in God and disbelieve the Bible, Quran etc at the same time... And it is people's personal choice, what to believe, or not. AND: as long, as they do not force other people to share their reliion, belief, whatever - it's fine.
F.... off fundamentalists and fanatics, of whatever belief, disbelief, religion, denomination etc. they are.

This is your belief and nothing more. You can't tell them there is no God. If you have the proof you would have to show them. No person has ever proven evolution of the mind. A leap from animal mind to human consciousness. A monkey does not know in it's heart it is a thief if it takes a bananna from me. evolution of the mind can not be proven in a fossil record it has to be seen actually happening.

You can't convince them without offending them.

If you are CONVINCED in what you believe, then why are you trying so hard to convince people that there is no God. What's in it for you?

Just accept people the way they are and don't try to change the way people think. Trying to convince those who Believe is like saying "it never snows in Alaska". Not possible.

You never convince. The indoctrination is too strong.

You must LEAD.

People, the general public, have this urge to believe in something, ANYTHING that they can cling on to, to validate their existence/ purpose for being here.

It's like we're fighting a war with 20,000 people against the world...

The Spartans did a hell of a job with 300. Don't be discouraged. We may not win in our lifetime, but people will come to realization. That is the Tao.

As an atheist, do you appreciate it when a Christian tries to drive their beliefs down your throat? Personally, I don't and as such, I do not push my personal beliefs on others. In the US, people have the right to freedom of religion which is part of the foundation this country was built on. Religion is an important part of many people's lives and it is neither your business nor mine whether a person is an atheist, a Christian or believes in the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
