I was at home one night alone with my 2 kids, and hubby was at work. my dog (TITAN) rotti) now passed on. was eating at his dish . it's in front of a glass door. he started growling and snarling... i was affraid of him,, I NEVER had seen him like this.I kept telling him to quiet down, and stop.but he persisted.
he was tearing my house apart finally I let him out, he never ran away, he was 9 years old. BUT this time he did.... he ran to the side of my house to the basement window. that I had left open.
my 3 foot, 150lbs. rotti, sqeezed his way into that little window.I herd him in the basement, so I went down there to see what was going on. had a man cornerd in my basement. i called the cops. and he was aprehended. and charged. I'm so thankfull, for TITAN that night,, GOD only knows what would have happend to me and my children. what makes this so special to me, is that TITAN was old and sick, and he had an injured leg,, that never healed properly,, even with my vets best attempts. he was unable to walk normally, and yet he still protected me no matter how much pain he was in. I will always love you TITAN,A.K.A. (my BIG fluffy)

All of these stories are awesome. Here's mine and a friend's.
Mine:
I adopted my dog, Missy, six months ago. The first day I left her alone to go to work, I thought I'd try letting her have free run of the apartment. Everything seemed fine when I came home for lunch. I got home that evening and found my paycheck destroyed. I couldn't help but laugh - it was as if she knew what it was and that I wouldn't work for free! :)
My friend:
My friend's family has two Irish Setters. They've both been great with kids, as far as I know. Well one day they looked up and one of the dogs leaped - unprovoked - onto a three-year-old boy who had just been playing. The dog knocked the boy to the ground. Before anyone could get mad, the setter was stung by dozens and dozens of bees. The little boy had been swinging a butterfly net around and hit a bee's nest. This particular boy was allergic to bee stings, so the setter saved his life.
I love dogs. I loved all of these stories - dogs are incredible animals, and we often don't give them their due credit.

Well both my puppies are under 4 months old(a pit bull and a chow/shephard mix) but my mother in law has a 1 year old pit bull named Muscles. Well one night I was there alone and this man came knocking at the door so I answered. Well he pushed his way in and Muscles came running and pinned the guy on the porch. The guy ran off. No telling what his intentions were. So when people talk down on pit bulls I tell them that a PIT BULL saved my life!

These are great stories. I used to have a Pomeranian named Muffin (even though it was a boy). Muffin loved to shred balled-up paper. Christmas morning was especially exciting for him. One Christmas my mom gave me a $20.00 bill along with my presents. As is tradition, I left all my presents under the tree. When we came home from my aunt's, the $20.00 was shredded! We had to tape all the little confetti pieces back together and take it to the bank. Muffin was also pretty smart. He learned to grab a slip of paper if someone drops it, and then he wouldn't release it from his mouth until you gave him a treat.

I have 3dogs, Chihuahua, Great Dane, and Pomeranian/Maltese mix. My Great Dane and Pom/Maltese are BEST friends, and my Chi. is a Mommy's girl. Well anyways the other day my Great Dane (Velma) and Pom/Maltese(Binki) were playing with their stuffed pink toy dog and Velma got on the couch and was playing with it so Binki went to play with her, but she's way to little to jump onto the couch, so Velma held the toy in her mouth and waited for Binki to bite the other end of the dog that was hanging off the couch. When she did Velma then slowly pulled the dog and Binki up! Now when they play and Velma gets on the couch with a toy she pulls Binki up to, and thats where they play!! It's so cute and funny to watch!!

I have a lot of stories about my dog, but my favorite one is my mom's reaction to my dog. I had just adopted my adult American Pit Bull Terrier from my local animal shelter. My mom said that she would never come over to my house, or allow my dog over to her house because she was a Pit Bull! Well, after much persuasion, I finally convinced my mom that it was going to be Okay! And I wouldn't put her in harms way. So my dog and I went over to my mom's house, and within 5 minutes my dog was sitting on my mom's lap, giving her kisses on her cheek, and my mom was actually laughing and enjoying it!!! Now my mom and my pit bull are great friends, and she is always welcome at their house :)

Friend of ours had a lab that hated water. Out on a walk one day, she saw a bird in a nearby pond that was having difficulties and trying to get out but couldn't. Cassie (the dog) jumped into the water, grabbed the bird in her mouth and brought her to shore. Odder still, she put her paw on the bird's wing, the broken one. Turns out, that kept the bird from making the broken wing worse, or doing further damage, until they could wrap it up and get it to the vet. Cassie never went in the water again. No, my friend never said a word to Cassie to go to the bird, didn't even notice until Cassie jumped in.

when i wrote this story i never realized what a big part of my life he is. he really saved me from myself. when i got him we had just moved to a new neighborhood, and there were no kids around and i was really depressed. i sat inside. i played video games and i just was a really depressed person. and i was really shy so making friends for me what really hard. when sammy came into my life i realized that i had to talk to people and communicate with his vet in order to properly care for him. and i had to talk to people he drug me to when we were walking him. people were so intrigued by such a beautiful dog. and i really met a lot of new people and found a lot of new friends. sammy really impacted my life. he is my savior. he made me the person i am today and im thankful for that. i saved him from an abusive home where he wasnt loved and in return he showed me that people really were ok. and that it is ok to talk and be heard. i find my story very cool

I have so many! But one I haven't shared yet with anyone...
I kept finding books laying on the floor in front of the bookshelf. I caught one of my dogs using his paw to knock a book from the shelf. He is a smart dog...thinks he can read. :)
