I didn't follow a religion but believed in god. When I came to my senses and realized none of it made sense I 'became' atheist.

I converted. I guess technically it's the same "religion" but different denominations within the religion. I converted from a baptist to a latter-day saint (mormon). The missionaries from the church were teaching my family for a few months and they challenged me to read the book of mormon, so I did. As I was reading it I challenged them a lot and asked a lot of questions, and they answered them all. When I was done, I got down on my knees and prayed and I felt the holy ghost tell me that the Book of Mormon was true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet. Also, at my baptism I had the most amazing feeling ever and know that it only could have come from God.

I converted from Baptist to Christian Science when I was 15. As a Baptist, I just didn't I feel I had the Holy Spirit in my life. Now, many years later, I am about to leave Christian Science. Christian Science, while theoretically correct, is pitched at too abstract a level to meet human needs for comfort and reassurance. Also, the practice of spiritual healing in Christian Science has proved to be a sad failure in my case.
I am not sure where to go next. I can't go back to mainstream Christianity. I have already been there, and doctrines of substitutionary atonement and hell don't make sense to me. I am attracted to some aspects of Hindu and Buddhist teachings, which are similar to Christian Science. But I also feel tired of religion in general, which makes atheism seem attractive.

I saw a few here that changed religions to non belief or joined a cult, and a few that changed denominations ......Nothing real drastic like Islam to Jew or Christian .Or lets say from tribal religion to Christian or Jew because of missionaries..Religion is a funny thing to turn away from and go back to each time we turn away its harder to get back Fortunatly, going from one denomination to another is no conversion in the same sense..For some its getting stronger in thier faith for others its weaker... Like me, I left the catholic rituals and the pedophile priests , when i was a teen ager . I always new there is and was a God but never did anything about it till after a hard divorce and drastic challenge to my life .I sat down with a pastor that later became real good and close friend , and that drew me to God or should I say Christ , so I became a born again bible believeing Christian , and got baptized in a baptist church , but it took a lot of searching for the truth to make me go the way so now I am a Christian that attends a Baptist church

I was a Christian, but now I'm Buddhist.
I wouldn't say I converted, for the first religion was put on me and the second is but a way of life.

I converted from Anglican to Catholic. Now I'm a Deacon.
There really were no differences in beliefs.
I just had to accept the authority of the Pope.
I realized that whatever Henry VII disagreed about,
did not involve me in any way.

The biggie: we are told to eat his body and drink his blood.
It doesn't say to eat a symbol of my body and my blood..
Gospel of John
Chapter 65
53
Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.
54
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.
55
For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
56
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.
I was raised in the United Methodist Tradition.
I converted to Catholicism.
I had a huge interest in the Catholic Church when I was young. It was not OK with family I follow the interest. My dad was Southern Baptist, my mom Disciples of Christ Christan Church.
As an adult, I did lots of research. Everything I did. pulled me closer. The priest did everything to discourage me. it was a call from God. The Holy Spirit moved from the top of my head through my toes when I was anointed.
I can only follow this Scripture teaching in the Catholic Church.

Went from fundamental, evangelical christian to apostate. Then The Holy Spirit woke me up and showed me the truth and now I am a disciple of The Holy Spirit. The gnostic gospels are scripture and the o.t. is not.

I started out being LDS, then I left the church for a while, searched other religions, did my own research on things, and then went back to the church. I was never "harassed" about going back, and no one pushed me into anything. That isn't the way the church works at all. I had to learn for myself that it was a true church, and that to me, it held more truth then other churches.
