Oh yes fireball, I forgot your definition of "truth" means blindly believing a book of bronze age mythology that says the universe was just "popped" into existence by some imaginary sky-pixie, rather than the reality that Science has discovered.
Thankfully, your opinion is less than useless in the Scientific world.

agnostic rocket,
Sigh, looks like someone needs to learn what the word "theory" means in a Scientific context. You DO understand that gravity is a "theory" right? No such thing as a law of gravity (except for Newton's but he wrote it himself and it is not widely accepted anymore).
Read here please;

Evolution is defined as a change in allele frequencies in a population over time. This is a fact. It has been observed in many thousands of examples.
Evolution is also defined as the theory which explains this fact.
A fact is defined as a statement about reality for which the evidence is so strong that to disbelieve it would be simply foolish.
A theory (as used in science ) is defined as "a coherent group of general propositions used as principles of explanation for a class of phenomena" .The term does not imply tentativeness or lack of certainty. For instance Human Sexual Reproduction is the theory that explains where babies come from.
The Theory of Evolution uses propositions such as Mutations and Natural Selection to explain the fact that Evolution occurs.
A law is a statement describing a relationship observed to be invariable between or among phenomena for all cases in which the specified conditions are met.
In science laws and theories are two entirely different types of things one does not become the other. Laws are not facts either. Laws are statements describing relationships, most often in the forms of equations.
Exreme ignorance of basic scientific terms is rampant in the United States. Unfortunately creationists seek to increase that ignorance and take advantage of it.

Clever and funny, but I disagree. The reason I disagree has nothing to do with evolution or the fact that I'm a Christian. The objection a Christian poses is not to gaps qua gaps; rather that the theory itself (it is thought) does not predict gaps, and gaps exist. While I don't believe this objection is "enough", so-to-speak, to discredit evolution out of hand, the joke is a straw man, and thus a logical fallacy.
The reason I object to material such as this is that it is deliberately combative, which produces a frenzy of emotion in people. This deepens the *emotional* divide between people, hampering healthy debate, and perpetuating the hostilities we have between each other.

You hit the nail on the top once you stated that creationists argue with their very very own misconceptions somewhat than the tenants of the assumption itself. this is amazingly authentic. a million. That the person-friendly thought of evolution is that issues exchange by way of the years. it is somewhat hassle-free somewhat, this is why it somewhat is a sturdy scientific thought. 2. That there could be transitional fossils or lacking links if evolution is authentic. 3. and of direction, the previous well-known, that if evolution is authentic, monkeys could be evolving into adult men previously our selection eyes.

wasn't jesus alive for thirty years before anyone took notice of him? what was he doing all that time? where did he hang out? what school did he go to? talk about "gaps"...and for the son-of-god in the flesh with "the multitudes" following him everywhere he went, he certainly didn't attract too much press until long after the supposed events had taken place. christians have no answer for this...and yet, will tell you point blank that evolution, with its mountains of evidence and indisputable consensus from all branches of science, is only a "theory"...

You should have this question resolved by now. However, I also have a question to catlady - where did you come up with those foolish ideas? I was raised Christian but made the decision to follow Christ on my own. I have never done meth. or hallucinated and with an IQ of 143 I don't consider myself a "retard". The only thing that hurts (when a person like you spouts off insanities) is my heart. I feel sorry for the way you feel. I hope that it changes before Christ comes back.

That's it? That was rather lame after such a big buildup. Well I'm glad Christianity can give some purpose to your life. It's just sad that this is it.

I liked this statement from the comic strip artist:
"Creationists are just too easy to mock sometimes. I could literally write billions of comics mocking them. They are a never-ending source of inspiration and idiocy!"
