Learning about other religions is great, but that doesn't mean I accept them. I learn from history, but I wouldn't want to copy the behavior of notorious dictators.

But on this forum, people ask spiritual questions, and they can only really be answered from the one God who has the answers, and that is the God of Jesus Christ. It is not a matter of wanting to put people down, for me, but correcting them if I must. There are a lot of false religions and beliefs out there, but if someone asks a question of spiritual importance, they must be told the truth. No help is coming from idols, or moon gods, or lucky charms or anything else that is just made up by superstitious pagans.

I actually have studied other religions. I am here to say that Your God is my God . There is not a drop of difference. God is one with many names Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, Rama, etc. The externals (practice) may vary, but the essence of all religion (laws of God) are the same. The Universal laws are Love God and see every living being as part of God. Treat those as you would like to be treated, and never forget God. Simple for the Simple and pure at heart. Hallelujah, Hare Krishna, Allah Akbar, God is One. We will never be happy until we understand these simple Universal truths. World Peace

I don't mind an open exchange of ideas, but to be honest, I don't see a large influx of new/original ideas from the major religions.

Edit:
Several addition things: R&S questions are shown in Society and culture, I generally answer and read what interests me.

I do look at a lot of links posted, but I get extremely disappointed at creationist sites, anyone with the internet at their finger tips should be able to learn enough in 30 or 40 minutes to realize that most of the challenges to evolution are bogus, the remainder take a bit longer but not much (this is a nice way of saying that they are deliberately misleading).

I do enjoy learning, but I also want people to realize that it is not ok to legislate their morals.

every intellectual person would like to learn about other religions.. but learning doesn't mean you're going to convert to another thing.. hence, when you meet someone that, according to you, believes in wrong believes you'd try to get him on the right track and eventually 1 of 2 will be persuaded (that if the 2 are of very good knowledge of their religions and they're flexible enough to accept other people's point of view) because this is like any other philosophical sophicticated debate.. whenever it happens it has to end like this.. and if both stayed as they are then that's because one of them doesn't know that much about his religion or they're just not flexible.

As salaamu 'alaikym, my friend.

Insha'Allah, I have literally spent a lifetime studying religions and mythologies of the world, Jungian psychology and the archetypal comparatives, symbology, etc.
Insha'Allah, in doing so, I have begun to learn Hebrew, Latin, Classical Greek, Japanese, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin), French, German, English, Italian, Arabic, etc. (none truly mastered but...)
Insha'Allah, I have also learned about art, music, dance, etc.
Insha'Allah, I have added to this the sciences (with degrees in physics, astrophysics, education).
Insha'Allah, learning how others understand the nature of life leads to harmonious co-operation and peaceful co-existence.

Ma'a salaam.

I don't push my view on anyone and I never intentionally put anyone down. I like to argue my view against someone else's view.
