They are in the "sex trade," so to speak, but it is not considered prostitution-- prostitution is illegal almost everywhere in the U.S., while stripping is not.
Strippers are using their bodies and sexuality to earn a living. Some might think that nudity should be reserved for relationships/ marriage, rather than for strangers who pay you money. Some think that strippers dabble in prostitution on the side; I don't really know the statistics on that one.
Hope that helps.

actually, "sex worker" isn't exactly just a politically correct term for "prostitute." A sex worker is anyone who works in the sex industry. It needn't necessarily involve direct sexual contact. strippers, phone sex workers, porn actors, and adult models are all "Sex workers."
But I agree that it is a mistake to group them as one and the same. I asked a similar question on why people have so much anger/hate towards strippers. Look up my past Q&A, I got some good answers that I think are relevent to your paper.

strippers dont do it for sex. sure its all about sex appeal but there is no touching. also strippers are often more than just a slut on a fire pole. many stippers are trained dancers and very athletic women. they just choose to dance in a more provocative way than their counterparts (ballerinas, hip hop dancers, ect) but the skills are all there. thats why a lot of stippers are called exotic dancers because they are dancing and here in america anything that isnt angelo is exotic. many dances that strippers do are based on asian dances and south american dances. as for pole strippers that takes more talent then you would think. to hold your self up on that pole you have to have a hardcore set of abs and good balance.
sure im only talking about the more classy strippers. any time there are people with talent doing something with class there are no talent hacks doing the same thing really trashy.
as for trashy strippers they are no better than hookers because they ususaly have no talent and no dance training they just like it when people look at their tw@ts.
so i personally have much more repsect for strippers than hookers because strippers are often talented and could be a ballerina if they wanted they just arent.

No, prostitution is having sex for money. Strippers don't have sex for money. They take off their clothes, dance, etc for money. I guess some strippers do have sex, but then they're strippers and prostitutes, not just strippers.
If strippers are prostitutes then the waitresses at Hooters also are, too.

Strippers are NOT prostitutes. Most strippers do not sell their bodies for sex and would not even think of doing it.
A prostitute is somebody who sells his/her body for sex ; be it oral, anal,or vaginal. Performing masturbation on another person for money is also prostitution.
Dancing naked is NOT prostitution.

yep in my opinion yes because at least stripping is like a legal to be a prostitute, because you're being paid to take of your clothes and show your nakedness, the only difference is that there is no sex involved, at least that's what it seems

No way!! And purely via fact the two factors consent to the prostitution, does not advise that it is not immoral (or unlawful for that depend). in many cases the two factors consent in statutory rape (the place one is underage), yet this is likewise unlawful. besides, I oppose the two pornography and prostitution.

strippers "sell" their body for money, just like prostitutes do
Besides, strippers will often sleep with "clients" for the right amount.
