Terribly sorry but you've got it all wrong, but don't worry you're in good company as its a common misconception that weight loss is all about science and can be achieved quickly.
There is of course some science to it (and I've studied it) but it has more to do with lifestyle changes than it does with number crunching.
The only healthy effective means of weight loss is to SLOWLY increase your exercise level and SLOWLY make improvements to your diet.
When you become 'in tune' with your body and when you make the right food choices and exercise regularly you don't have to count calories, or even limit your intake.
To maximize the benefits you should actually be eating more smaller meals, not fewer meals.
Many people have asked me "whats the best exercise to do" and do you know what I say? "the best exercise is one that you will do" (ie - its all good, but for weight loss aerobic exercise is better than anaerobic exercise)

Okay, uh? First of all ethio4lyfe- please don't joke about anorexic like that. It is a terrible disease, and suggesting someone to become it is incredibly stupid and uncalled for. Grow some maturity.
are you missing a few zeros? 120-400 calories.... that's equivalent to a very, VERY small meal. That's like eating a bowl of pasta. Are you sure you're counting correctly? and if you are, then I've been on the same boat. I was anorexic for close to a year, and I ate about 210 calories at my worst parts in life. For your height and weight, you should eat between 1,500-1,800 calories in a day( think about 300-400 calorie meals)
240 calories in a week? That would require you sitting in your bed for an entire week..not even getting up for pee breaks. You seriously burn about 1000-1300 calories a day (depending on your weight) doing daily activity (walking around the house, a bit of yard work, reading, computer, etc). On top of that you should add some time of cardio (running, walking, cycling, swimming, jogging, hiking, kickboxing, skating..etc) Your weight is perfectly fine, but if you would like to 'tone' up your body, which sounds more realistic, add some resistance training and situps, squats, weights..etc
it's great that you turned to this site for help though, because you definitely woulda been on the wrong track. Good luck!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

You eat 120-400 calories per day???????? That's crazy. I eat twice that in a single meal.
That's very unhealthy, you don't understand the mechanics of weight loss. You need 1300+ calories to be safe, and exercise 5 days per week.
Besides, your BMI is perfectly fine.

first off you need to eat all three meals every day, if you don't then your body doesn't function right and you won't lose any weight. the key to losing weight is exercising and eating healthy food. so many people think that if they starve themselves they are going to lose weight faster, but they are all wrong. not eating is the worst thing you can do, it messes up your body system and the weight you do lose is gained right back. please eat more on the weekends and just go for a 20 min. walk/run every night and you will lose weight.
