I live in an apartment complex in which the apartments right next to each other. So i have noticed my neighbour's precious cat who i really love, is always kicked out of the house every night. She seems like an indoor cat and does not even go one feet away from the door. She just stays by the door mat or gets under their car. Is is not wrong for them to do that?

Also she absolutely loves me too, when ever i take a walk at night she 'meows' at me and walks a little toward me, and when i go to her she loves to play and cuddle. Would it be proper to ask my neighbours if i can play with their cat? I feel like a theif outside their apartment playing with their cat in the middle of the night.

*****On top of that, they leave the cat out when its really cold and even when it rains. The cat is Declawed and there are many evil feral cats roaming around every night. I am just scared that she will be attacked and could not defend herself.****

I doubt they'd think it's creepy that you play with their cat, unless they notice you out there every night for hours at a time. That could get a little creepy, hehe. I also doubt they'd get mad at you for asking if it's okay, they'd probably appreciate it.

If you do manage to ask them if it's okay, you should ask them if you can have it if you think it's being neglected =). That'd be awesome if they really didn't want it and you got a great cat! However, if they said no and you decided to kidnap it later, they'd know who did it.

This could obviously be turned into a SNL comedy skit where one neighbor suspects the other of an affair with their cat. It is ok to be friendly and secretly in love with your neighbor's cat. Go ahead and pet the little guy/gal; I bet he has really warmed up to you.
One option is this week when you see your neighbor mention how nice the cat is. See what their response is first. Maybe ask for the cat's name. Get a feel for their response to their own cat.
Secretly, plan to lure the cat to your touch and let the cat choose between the two neighbors. Takes the burden off of you. You never know- your neighbor could be tired of the old thing and looking to pass it along to a more thankful owner.
Good luck I am rooting for the adoption of a new owner-You.

Frankly, I'd go over and ask for the cat.

Having a cat outdoors exposes it to being hit by cars, attacked by predators and who knows what. You'd be doing it a favor if they'd let you take it since they don't seem to think protecting their pet is a priority.

its fine to aske them to play with it even ask them if you can have it even play with it without them knowing but they may put the cat out because they think it gets exercise i know it seems bad to you but you dont know what they are thinking and im not saying your wronng but i had a chocolate lab once who always escaped and nobody really minded because we were in the type of neighborhood where peoples dogs would get out every now and then but it wasnt a big deal because we all knew each other and we all knew eachothers dogs and all the dogs seemed to be firends too and my dog would always go to the neighbors house because they would try to steal her because they would put out special food like steaks and they even brought her insisde their house because they had two german shepards and theyhad a little girl who couldnt play with them so they tried to steal my dog to keep it and they claimed it was because we were abusing her but i promise i would be the last person to abuse a dog my dogs are so spoiled its not even funny when they get on my bed they always take the pillows and rather than kick the off or make them move i just sleep in another spot and im not saying your trying to steal the pet but dont judge the people because they may be very nice to the cat my dog seemed to love the neighbors too but i was the nicest person my dog would ever meet. and when we finally had to pin her up because they kept her for a week she tried to jump the fence when no one was home and she got hung in between two of the railings and to this day i blame my asshole neighbors for that and i have moved and i succeded in burning their shed down to get back at them they had alot of expensive stuff in there and dont call me bad for burning their shed down they killed my dog.

this is so useful and OMG that cat is coming to you becasue it trusts you and sorry to assert they stray faraway from domicile while not fed right i might seek advice from the elderly couple and its superb the cat is an exterior cat so no responsibilities to a clutter field good ?! i might completely communicate it over with them and you may additionally be taken a burden off their shoulders. i think of this is definitely useful.

i guess they wouldn't mind you playing with their kitty, but most people put their cats out at night. I on the other hand try to keep mine in at night cos of all the wildlife around at night time.

aww, i feel so sad. you are so kind to give the cat attention. they should not push their cat out the door like that, she's a house cat.
ask if they need a cat sitter.
good luck.

Well it would be better to ask them, then to have them catch you lurking around waiting for the cat to come out to play ..

they obviously don't care about it anyways, take it and move away, but only if you'll love it until the day it dies.
