Because creationists are the only ones that are insecure about their beliefs. They know deep down that their logical thinking has been murdered at the hands of their core beliefs and the only thing that can bring happiness to their poor souls are to bring others to their level. They hate the fact that it's actually possible to find out truth without prescribing to magical stories of mythical beings and ideas of being saved from an outside source.

Bingo... knowledge and reason are the enemies of religion... particularly Christianity... because knowledge will expose the lies and deception upon which christianity is built. Since science is a primary SOURCE of knowledge, their only recourse is to try to undermine science through MORE lies and deception.
