It is forbidden for Muslims to consume alcohol. It is a vile drink, I think the reasons for why alcohol is bad are pretty obvious: the self-harm, violence, danger etc.

Islam forbids alcohol. So any Muslim who follows his religion will not drink and will not try even a drop of it!.

Muslims have the highest rate of teetotalers (non-drinkers) in the world!!!!

Considering the destruction and death caused by alcoholism, Islam saved many of us...

I don't know if the thing i heard about muslim, regarding drinking alcohol is true. I heard muslim will utter first "thou shalt not drink one drop of wine (he took a drop of wine out of the glass he is using and drop it to the earth/soil), then he can drink the wine that was left in the glass!

Depends on how one reads the Qur'an. Technically, intoxicants are forbidden but that could include coffee and anesthetics depending on how you interpret this rule. Generally it is not acceptable. You also have to take into account why intoxicants are forbidden (e.g. drunk driving and domestic abuse).
