Absolutley. This is a natural feeling for sure. Yes sharing your pain with another lessens the burden your heart has to carry.

Of course, one cannot be compassionate to others if one does not feel for oneself.
In Mahayana Buddhism Kwan Yin/Kannon(Avelokiteshvara), the Boddhisatva of Compassion, cares for the tears of others.
There are buddhist support groups for people who are struggling with the problems of life.

Sure it's okay, but it's better to understand the source of your pain, and the reasons it causes this reaction in you, and how fleeting and illusory it actually is. Then you can conquer it.
