If I went to a 5 star hotel, I would be so embarrassed?

How do you deal with the fact people pore over you?

I think that those kind of places are so far from what is "real" I hate snobs, and i meet alot of them working in a restaurant, snooty women take the piss out of me when i dont know which wine has "oaky aromas", and i think its pathetic and pretentious. I just think to myself, youve lost touch with what matters and what is "real". So i would stay away from those places, you dont need someone to floss your teeth and clean your shoes, youre a waste of a life if thats the case in my opinion. (not saying YOU are)

I do not think you should feel embarrassed in a 5-star hotel, there are just more things available, like a gym, a nice bathrobe in your room, fancy shampoo etc. a swimming pool, etc. People are not poring over you. Just enjoy it!

I've never had anyone at a 5 star hotel 'pour' (I think that's the spelling you wanted) over me.
My experiences have been that the service is beyond excellent. They seem to know, before I do, what I want or need.
The linens are fresh, not smelling of bleach, the pillows are perfect, the bath towels and robes plush and soft, everything is in perfect working order, the room service is to die for.....what's not to like?

We have stayed at plenty of 5 star hotels and no one "pours" over anyone. They have a better level of service, quality staff, better linens and beds, and fine conciege services. It is what you would expect when you are paying the 5 star price. Nothing more,nothing less. I like to be taken care of and they surely know best how to do that.

I`ve worked in 5 * hotels and found only the punters are snobs.waiters may be all over as they need tips to increment their wages other wise people are no better than you so why be embarrassed?
