I would like to see a picture of the T-36 Trainer Plane that is used for US Air Force pilots and associated with NASA. My grandson, 8 years old, loves planes and has a large collection of them. Can anyone help me?

I think you mean the T-38. It is based on the Northrop F-5 Fighter.

NASA flies the T-38

In 1952, The U. S. A. Force was developing a new pilot trainer. I was the project officer for the development of the "T-36A at Wright -Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. It looked a lot like a twin engine Martin 440. Same radial engines, R-2800 by Pratt Whitney. The plane never made it to production as the program was cancelled just before the first flight test due to changes in the Training Commander, who decided not to finish it. Beech Aircraft was the Contractor. They considered building a turbo prop version, but the Air Force would not fund it. I think Beech began designs on their future turbo prop aircraft at that time.

There are 2 different planes you could be talking about, Either the T-6 Texan II, or the T-38.
Just to let you know, the big plan is to let the new prop driven T-6 take over for the older T-38.
Either way, this web link has some great pics.
