Dear Soul Doctor,
Yes back in High School before i played a big game there were times i'd take a look in the mirror and talk to myself to hype myself up and just to "vizualize" how i was going to play that game.
I think part of the song "Man in the mirror" is realizing that we can change the world- but maybe sometimes the first step is to change ourselves.
i don't think Michael Jackson was trying to be a theologian but i do think that it is true that there are times we need to change to be able to bring change to those around us. Spiritually speaking i realize that some of the things in my life that i need to change require the help of the Holy Spirit. "I make the choice, God makes the change." So i need to choose to humble myself and to submit myself to God's word and His Holy Spirit.
So in that sense too-- even today- but i guess instead of just looking in the mirror (i use God's word as the mirror-- the book of James actually talks about God's word as being like a mirror) to examine my life and to make changes as God leads me.
Hope that answers your question.

Blessings. Kindly,
Nickster

I don't really need to change much as I am always changing anyway. I learned long ago that what I get out of life is what I put in to it.

I don't tell myself to change my ways, just improve on what I've been doing.
(Have you ever looked in the mirror and said "I love you"? It's really weird.)

Normally I don't tell her to change her ways. I try a more positive approach to speaking with her.

Yes, I do it all the time. Unfortunately she doesn't always listen. She needs to love herself a little more but, she doesn't know how.

everyday. I tell him to stop being angry at the things he cant control. And to treat others with kindness and respect even if they oppose you. Maybe one day, he'll listen.

Yes, I have, but she just smirks at me and continues on her merry little way. She doesn't listen to anybody.
