Yes...totally annoying. A cool tip is to salt the coaster. The salt will stick to the bottom of the drink and prevent sticking.

It protects the table or bar. Ever see those coasters that have cork in the center? The glass doesn't stick to them.

It's OK if they stick to the bottom of the glass. They are to protect the fine funiture.

Only bother if you have a really nice wooden table and you're worried about rings from condensation.

try the glass coasters there heaver so the glass or cup doesn't
lift them.
