Good luck with that. I was searching years ago, cause I fell in love with them. I couldn't find one for free or cheap. You might be able to find a half breed at a shelter. The best you can do is search for Maine Coons online and see what comes up. I found lots, but none that are free. They are expensive kitties. I do wish you the best of luck though cause they are great cats.

It would be difficult to find a free pure bred Maine Coon. However, we got our two boys from the Oldestage Maine Coon Cattery in Massachusetts. They are excellent breeders and our boys are beautiful. They are 3 1/2 yrs. old now, weigh 20 lbs plus and have the sweetest temperaments.

If you want a purebred animal, expect to PAY for it.

If you want a pet you can love, there are plenty up for adoption.

People don't just give away free purebred puppies and kittens- not sure why people seem to think that's the case.

"Free" is unlikely, but you can get a low cost one through one of the breed rescues. Do a check on the breed rescues in your area:

An adult from a shelter would be good for you

Why not get your mum&to go down to some shelter or pounds and let your choose from the adults cats make great pets and alot calmer Make sure you pick 1 that suits your lifestyle.
there are many other breeds but don't buy on looks along or favorite breed alone, buy only one that suits your lifestyle.

Never EVER buy from a petstore!

kittens need 4 meals aday
Where as Adult only need 2
